About Acuizz: How We Test Email Marketing Software

Who We Are

Acuizz is an independent review publication focused on email marketing and marketing automation software for small businesses. We exist for one reason: to cut through vendor marketing with real, hands-on testing — so a busy owner can choose a tool with confidence instead of guesswork.

We’re a small editorial operation. We don’t run a marketing agency, we don’t sell software, and we don’t write reviews from press kits or second-hand research. If we haven’t signed up, built campaigns, and broken things inside a tool ourselves, we don’t review it.

The Editorial Team

Rather than celebrity bylines, here’s how the work is actually divided:

  • Editors / testers — run every tool through a real trial account: building campaigns, forms, and automations, and documenting what works and what frustrates.
  • Pricing auditors — re-verify every plan, limit, and fee against the vendor’s official pricing page before publication and on scheduled re-checks.
  • Publishing editors — fact-check claims, write the verdicts, and ensure every score follows the same methodology.

We describe the team by function, not personality — because what matters to you is the process, not our résumés. Every review states its update date so you can judge how fresh the findings are.

Our Testing Methodology

Every Acuizz review follows the same four steps — so a score on one review means the same thing as a score on another:

  1. Real trial account — We sign up the way a customer would — no guided vendor demos, no special reviewer accounts.
  2. Hands-on testing — We build real campaigns, automations, signup forms, and landing pages, and push each tool until we find its limits.
  3. Pricing audit — We verify every plan, contact tier, send limit, and add-on fee on the vendor’s official pricing page before we publish a number.
  4. Support check — We contact customer support ourselves and time the response — because support quality is part of the product.

We re-check pricing and features against official vendor pages regularly, and every review carries its last-updated date. If a vendor changes a plan after we publish, we update the review.

How We Make Money

Acuizz earns affiliate commissions when readers sign up for software through links on our pages — at no extra cost to the reader. That’s what keeps the site running and the testing free for everyone.

Our rule is absolute and published in our affiliate disclosure: commissions never influence our ratings or rankings. Vendors cannot pay for placement, better scores, or softer criticism. If a tool is mediocre, our review says so — regardless of whether it pays a commission.

Why Trust Us

  • We test everything ourselves — no review is written without a real trial account behind it.
  • We disclose our money — affiliate relationships are stated on every page that has them, per FTC guidelines.
  • We show our work — pros and cons, comparison tables, and “who should avoid it” sections appear in every review.
  • We stay current — pricing is audited against official pages, and reviews carry update dates.
  • We’re accountable — found an error in a review? Tell us. We correct factual mistakes and note significant updates.
